Job description:

Brandeis University seeks Research Technicians to assist with data acquisition and to solve or prevent technical and installation related problems, as they arise, in the upgrade of the Atlas Detector at CERN, Switzerland. The technicians will work with faculty and engineers in coordinating the resources to achieve specific goals of the research project. There are multiple positions available.

Examples of Key Responsibilities:

• Performs programming assignments of a basic degree of complexity under minimal direction and supervision.
• Works on the data acquisition software for the Atlas Detector.
• Conducts analyses, tests, and simulations of routine complexity that pertain to software being developed for the Detector.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Physics. Strong background in technology, especially in electronic and mechanical assemblies.

Experience with construction and testing of electronic and mechanical assemblies.

Two or more years of experience in a research or laboratory setting.
