Job description:
The experimental high-energy physics group at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship position in experimental particle physics on the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. A Ph.D. in experimental high-energy particle physics and experience with physics analysis in addition to detector hardware and/or software is required.
Witwatersrand is a member institute collaborating Tile Calorimeter, contributing to maintenance, operations and upgrade, with emphasis on high-throughput electronics and radiation studies. The analysis interests of the group currently focus on Higgs boson physics and searches for dark matter. More details can be found at

A competitive salary package will be offered and the successful applicant will be expected to play leading roles in both physics analysis and detector hardware or software work. The position is renewable annually, for a maximum of up to three years.
