Responsibilities
 
The LHCb group at the Institute of Nuclear Physics in Kraków has a vacancy for a PhD Student working on the LHCb experiment at CERN. The work is part of an NCN funded research project. We seek for candidates to strengthen analysis activities in the area of charm physics, in particular radiative charm decays.
You will be expected to work primarily on physics analysis at the LHCb experiment and support work on the LHCb calorimeter upgrade; these will constitute your PhD dissertation. You will get your PhD degree the International PhD Studies at the Institute of Nuclear Physics. You will be expected to take all the mandatory courses at the International PhD Studies at the Institute of Nuclear Physics. Best students are eligible for an additional scholarship from the Institute of Nuclear Physics.
 
Requirements
 
The position requires a Master degree or equivalent in physics. The ideal candidate will have some experience in experimental particle physics, a strong interest in flavour physics and statistical data analysis, as well as good computing skills (Python, C++). Good communication skills and very good English are also expected.
