The School of Nuclear Science and Technology (SNST) of Lanzhou University (Lanzhou, China) opens several postdoctoral positions in the area of the theory of high energy nuclear and particle physics. The theory group at the SNST consists of three full professors, three associate professors and a dozen of master and PhD students. The actual research interests of the group are quite broad and embrace effective models of Quantum Chromodynamics, particle physics, theory of high energy nuclear collisions, nuclear structure and nuclear astrophysics. Candidates with a previous experience on these topics will be preferred, but young PhD with different experiences will also be considered. The successful candidates will work in collaboration with the staff members of the group.
Positions
Lanzhou University offers three kinds of postodoctoral positions:
Appointments are planned to start during the whole 2018 and will be two years long. Review of the applications will start immediately and continue until the positions are filled.
Depending on Lanzhou University funds as well as on the research performance of the successful candidates, the SNST might consider the possibility to turn the positions to permanent ones (assistant or associate professor) at the end of the first appointment.

Positions
Lanzhou University offers three kinds of postodoctoral positions:
- High level postdoctoral positions from overseas. To apply for this position, the candidate should have obtained his/her PhD from a high level university which should be in the top 100 universities in the world. The candidate has to be younger than 35 years old, and he/she should have published high level works in high energy physics, particle physics or nuclear physics. The salary for this position is 300000 Chinese Yuan per year before tax.
- Faculty postdoctoral positions. In order to apply for this position, the candidate has to be younger than 32 years old, and he/she should have already published research articles on excellent peer reviewed reviews in high energy physics, particle physics or nuclear physics. The salary for this position is of 140000 Chinese Yuan per year before tax.
- General postdoctoral positions. The candidate should have obtained the PhD at the moment of the application. Besides, candidates younger than 35 years old will be preferred. The salary for this position is of 80000 Chinese Yuan per year before tax.
