Job description:
We anticipate having one postdoctoral opening in theoretical physics, including cosmology, particle physics, and astrophysics, within the Tufts Institute of Cosmology. The position, beginning September 2018, is for two years, with the possibility of extension for a third. The postdoc will mostly work with Prof. Mark Hertzberg, but there will also be opportunities to work with other professors in the group: Larry Ford, Ken Olum, and Alex Vilenkin, as well as other professors in the greater Boston area. The group also includes other postdocs, long-term visitors, graduate students, and has a joint seminar series with MIT. The research will be at the interface of theoretical cosmology, particle physics, and astrophysics. Interests include inflationary cosmology, aspects of dark matter including axions and other models, applications of effective field theory, quantum gravity, foundations of general relativity, particle theory, astrophysical puzzles, and other subjects. Applicants are invited to send their C.V., publication list, a statement of research interests, and to arrange for three letters of reference to be sent.
