Job description:
The Kavli IPMU invites applicants for an Full professor position in the field of experimental physics of radiation imaging.
The successful candidate is expected to take a leadership role in development of advanced hard Xray/Gamma-ray imaging devices, transferring the advanced technology to nuclear medicine, and driving innovation of the imaging technology for future space missions and/or accelerator experiments. We are particularly interested in candidates with broad interests to interact with scientists in other fields at Kavli IPMU.

Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (Kavli IPMU), The University of Tokyo Institutes for Advanced Study, has the ambitious goal of to discover the fundamental laws of nature and to understand the universe from the synergistic perspectives of mathematics, theoretical and experimental physics, astronomy, and statistics. It is an international research institute with English as its official language established in October 2007. Kavli IPMU is on the Kashiwa campus of the University of Tokyo and has a Kamioka Satellite where they are expected to stay. More than a half of its full­time scientific members come from outside Japan. Its annual budget is approximately $13M.
