Fields, Gravity & Strings at the Institute for Basic Science (IBS) is a newly established international research initiative supported by the Korean Government, located in Daejeon, Korea. The center embodies excellent collaboration environment in polymath-style approach at human-interaction focused Google-style campus. During coming years, the center will expand to 5 resident faculty, 10 external faculty, 15~20 postdocs, and 20 graduate students, drawn from all around the world.
We are inviting exceptionally talented researchers to apply for multiple positions at postdoc and tenure-track junior-faculty levels. The postdoc position start at 3 +2 year-long tenure or longer commensurate to applicant's qualification, and comes with ample opportunity of promotion to faculty ladder and to Junior Research Group leader positions. We offer internationally competitive salary/stipend scale inclusive major insurances, along with individual travel + research grant.
We are looking for applicants who
- can demonstrate independence in research within theoretical physics broadly termed (particle/string theory, gravitational physics, physical mathematics, quantum information)
- can proactively interact and collaborate with other members in polymath style
- intends to carry out creative long-term research programs.
