Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a twelve-month Chair of the Department of Physics, as a tenure-track Professor in the department, to begin July 1, 2016. The department is seeking to increase its stature in research while maintaining its culture of instructional excellence. The Chair must be able to provide strong leadership and promote a powerful vision for the advancement of the department's mission and goals, and have an open, transparent, and participatory administrative style. The candidate should provide evidence of effective leadership, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, an ability to work productively with faculty and students from diverse backgrounds, and scholarship and research that includes peer-reviewed publications and securing external funding. A Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field or the foreign equivalent is required.
KSU is a growing and progressive university in Georgia's public system of higher education and is located in suburban Atlanta. KSU enrolls approximately 33,000 Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral students. KSU was recently classified as a comprehensive university with increased emphasis in research, graduate programs, and global engagement.
