Doctoral Student for the development of monolithic CMOS pixel detectors - Student at Heidelberg

Job description:
The Physics Institute of the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy in Heidelberg is involved in several LHC experiments (ALICE, ATLAS, LHCb), smaller scale experiments like Mu3e and offers an exciting research program. The High Energy group is developing High Voltage-Monolithic Pixel Sensors (HV-MAPS) for the Mu3e pixel tracker and hadron-collider experiments (e.g. ATLAS at HL-LHC FCC). The group is looking for an talented PhD student who will develop, construct and test monolithic CMOS pixel modules and investigate possible track trigger applications.   

Starting date: latest July 1st, 2017

Requirements: Master or equivalent degree in experimental particle physics or closely related fields. Candidates should be highly motivated, interested in physics at the high energy frontier, and are expected to have very good computing and analysis skills.
