Shenzhen, SUSTC - Postdoc

Job description:

One postdoctoral position in ADS/CFT, Quantum Information, and Quantum Gravity at SUSTech (Southern University of Science and Technology) in Shenzhen.

The "Quantum Information" and "Classical and Quantum Gravity” groups
at SUSTech (Shenzhen, China) are looking for a highly motivated
postdoc candidate to work on projects related to the interdisciplinary
area: ADS/CFT, quantum entanglement, and quantum gravity. The groups
are led by Prof. Man-Hong Yung and Prof. Leonardo Modesto.

The candidate is supposed to be an expert in either Quantum Gravity or
Quantum Information, and to be capable of carrying research in the
disciplinary area. At the moment, the Quantum Information group
consist on: 1 research assistant professor, 2 PhD, 3 undergraduate
Students, and several long-term visiting scholars. The Classical and
Quantum Gravity Group consist on: 2 Postdocs (from September 2017), 2
Undergraduate Students.

The research topic of the Quantum Information group mainly focuses on
quantum computation and simulation, including recent projects related
to quantum supremacy, machine learning, and quantum chemistry.

The research topic of the Gravity group mainly focuses on local
(Lee-Wick) and nonlocal super-renormalizable or finite gravitational
theories (SRQG), and super-renormalizable or finite completion/s of
the standard model of particle physics (SRSM).

Priority will be given to experts in: Gauge/Gravity duality. ABD (All
But Dissertation) candidates are also encouraged to apply. The
positions will start as soon as possible and the appointment is for 2
years; the position is renewable and may be promoted to the level of
research assistant professor, depending on the performance and funding
availability.

The salary is no less than 240,000 RMB/year plus housing allowance in
the first year and expected to be mildly increased annually in the
normal circumstance.
