The Minnesota Institute for Astrophysics (MIfA) within the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Minnesota invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor appointment in astrophysics, to begin August 2017.
MIfA faculty have a broad range of research interests, that include: solar and planetary physics, stellar astrophysics, extragalactic astronomy, gravitational wave detection, dark matter particle searches, and cosmology.
The successful candidate will take advantage of our facilities which include a share of the Large Binocular Telescope (LBT), additional guaranteed time on Steward Observatory facilities, and access to the Minnesota Supercomputer Institute.
We welcome applications from all areas of astrophysics. We are specifically interested in research plans that optimally use our access to the LBT.
