Applications are invited for two PhD student positions in the area of Quantum Field Theory, Supersymmetry or Conformal Field Theory.
The selected candidates will join the new group led by Alessandro Vichi at the department of High Energy Theory of the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale of Lausanne, Switzerland. The positions are for a term of 3-4 years, to start on or around 1st October 2016.
The department of High Energy Theory covers many research areas including field theory, high energy phenomenology, physics beyond the Standard Model, cosmology, supersymmetry, string theory, gauge/gravity duality and the conformal bootstrap. The senior scientists of the high energy theory group are currently Roberto Contino, Joao Penedones, Riccardo Rattazzi, Sergei Sibiryakov and Mikhail Shaposhnikov. The group has strong scientific ties with nearby CERN.
PhD students will receive a competitive salary (including pension) and funds for travel and computing.
Entry requirements:
Candidates are expected to hold a degree equivalent to a Master of Science prior to starting their PhD studies at EPFL.

- A copy of the Master thesis can be optionally included if already completed
