Job description:
Experimental Condensed Matter
The condensed matter spectroscopy group at Princeton University invites applications for multiple Postdoctoral Research or more senior positions to work on angle-resolved-photoemission (ARPES) and Scanning Tunneling (STS) studies on topological insulators, topological superconductors, Weyl fermion materials, correlated superconductors in combination with MBE growth and microscopy measurements. The successful candidate will carry out experiments both at Princeton University and several national laboratories and will be expected to play a significant role in carrying out spectroscopy and microscopy measurements (STM/STS) in combination with thin-film growth on a variety of systems. Some exposure to first-principle band calculations (FP/DFT) or other forms of electronic structure calculations is also desired.
Experience in UHV, synchrotron-based end-stations, beamline optics, detector hardware, electronics, and/or data acquisition technique is desirable, as are programming skills. Additionally MBE and STM/Microscopy/nano-ARPES/spin-ARPES skills would be a plus. The successful candidate will have a strong research record and must have a Ph.D.  Appointments are typically for one year with the possibility of extensions up to three years upon mutual agreement.
