University of Postdam is a center for astrophysical research, and many ties exist with the a nearby branch of DESY and the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics.
The theoretical astroparticle physics group at the Institute of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Potsdam has an immediate opening for a postdoc position.
The position
Postdoctoral appointment in theoretical astroparticle physics. We are particularly interested in a scientist working in one of the following areas:
* Radiation modeling of nonthermal sources such as SNR and AGN
* Kinetic studies of wave-particle interactions
* Particle acceleration processes
Requirements
* Ph.D. in physics or astronomy
* Experience with modeling of particle acceleration and radiation processes
* Experience with numerical and analytical studies of plasmas in space
* Good command of English
The position is limited to 3 years, but may be extended. Remuneration is set at level TV-L E13 (at least 3,500 Euro p.m.) following the general tariff agreement for public service organisations in Germany and includes employer contributions to the pension system, medical and dental insurance also for dependents, and unemployment support.
