Region: Europe
Job description:
The Theory Group of the Institute for Nuclear Physics at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz invites applications for a post-doctoral research associate position in hadron/nuclear theory within the Collaborative Research Centre CRC1044 "The Low-Energy Frontier of the Standard Model: From Quarks and Gluons to Hadrons and Nuclei" funded by the German funding agency DFG.
The research interests of the group include meson and baryon structure and phenomenology, chiral perturbation theory, dispersion relation techniques, precision electroweak physics, new physics searches in high-precision low-energy processes, nuclear astrophysics, perturbative QCD, and soft-collinear effective field theory.
The initial appointment is for two years, starting in spring/summer 2016, with a possibility of extension for a third year.
Applications will be reviewed from January 11th, 2016 until the position is filled.
The application should include a CV, a list of publications, and a brief statement of research interests. In addition, the applicants should arrange for at least two letters of recommendation. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent in theoretical nuclear, hadron, or high-energy physics, and demonstrate a strong interest in QCD phenomenology.
Interested candidates may find further information on the Theory Group of the Institute for Nuclear Physics at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz at http://wwwth.kph.uni-mainz.de/
