Postdoc Experimental High-Energy Physics - Postdoc at SYSU, Guangzhou

The experimental high-energy physics group at Sun Yat-Sen university (SYSU) invites applicants for a postdoctoral position in experimental neutrino physics. Salary and benefits of the position are of international standards and negotiable based on candidate's competence. In addition, SYSU fully supports and sponsors applicants to apply for national grants for postdocs in China.

The initial appointment is two-year with possibility of one-year renewal. Successful candidates are expected to play major roles in the neutrino experiments the group is actively working on, Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Oscillation (JUNO) reactor neutrino experiment and the MOMENT ((MuOn-decay Medium baseline NeuTrino beam facility). Interested successful candidates can choose to concentrate on one or more experiments. The group is also actively participating the discussions on the physics program for Phase-II of the China Jinping underground laboratory (CJPL), including a solar neutrino project “CJPLnu”. The high-energy physics program at SYSU is one of the funding institutes of the CCEPP (CAS Center for Excellence in Particle Physics). Competitive candidates will be recommended by SYSU to apply for the Chung-Yao Chao Fellowship. The fellowship is on top of the normal postdoctoral salary. As one of the most rapidly expanding HEP groups, competitive candidates will be encouraged to apply for the readily available research scientist and faculty positions in the program.

Candidates shall obtain a Ph.D degree in experimental particle/nuclear physics or related fields with an outstanding record of research achievements and creativity.
