Research Associate - Experimental Particle Astrophysics
The Department of Physics at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking to fill a research associate position in Experimental Particle Astrophysics. The successful candidate will participate in the NASA HELIX balloon project and the NASA CREAM experiment. These projects involve detector development, optimization, fabrication, testing, as well as participation in field campaigns (likely in Antarctica), as well as data analysis and simulation tasks. The ideal candidate should have experience with experimental techniques of particle astrophysics, in particular with high-altitude balloon instruments and/or instrumentation for satellite missions.
