University of Edinburgh Chancellors Fellowships in Data Driven Innovation
Highly prestigious 5-year tenure track fellowships focussed on data-enabled research and innovation applied to any discipline.
We are looking for interested applicants with a substantial track record in particle physics research to strengthen the Particle Physics Experiment group at Edinburgh. Candidates who would be able to take a leading role in the ATLAS upgrade project are particularly welcome. The theme of this post is data driven innovation, and candidates should make clear experience they have in Machine Learning, Parallelisation, algorithmic work to find small signals in large backgrounds, triggering technologies, or simulation and/or analysis of large datasets. This call is open to candidates from several areas of science. Thus it will be very important for particle physicists to demonstrate innovative ideas and an excellent research plan. Successful candidates will have established a reputation for the highest quality research at the forefront of their discipline and have a commitment to teaching at university level. A track record in obtaining external funding for related projects will be viewed very positively.
