Job description:
There is an opening for a tenure track position at the ICTP roughly equivalent to an Assistant Professor (P2/PA Associate Research Officer in UNESCO classification).
It will be a joint appointment between the HECAP (High Energy, Cosmology & Astro-particle Physics) section and the Mathematics section.
We seek outstanding candidates with an established track record in front-line research areas in the fields of theoretical physics and mathematics especially in promising areas at the interface where scientific synergy is possible and has proved to be fruitful. This includes topics in superstring theory, quantum field theory, enumerative geometry, number theory, and topology where ideas and techniques from physics have led to important advances in mathematics and vice versa.
We seek candidates who can also contribute proactively to the unique mission of the ICTP and add to the diversity of the academic community.
The deadline for sending the completed applications is February 28, 2018.
