Job description:
The Subatech XENON group is opening one two-years post-doc position to work within the XENON Collaboration on Direct Dark Matter Search at Subatech (Nantes). The position is funded by the CNRS/IN2P3 and will begin as soon as it will be filled.
The XENON1T experiment aims at finding direct evidences for the scattering of dark matter candidates with xenon target nuclei in an ultra-low background dual-phase time projection chamber detector located in the underground National Laboratory of Gran Sasso (LNGS), Italy. XENON1T is currently the first ton-scale detector of this kind.
Applicants should have a solid astroparticle physics background, good computing skills, experience on data treatment and analysis. The successful candidates will be member of XENON Collaboration and will take part to all the activities foreseen by the collaboration: from data taking to data analysis and Monte Carlo simulations. He/she will be also involved in the construction and commissioning of a new Storage and Recovery System (ReStoX2) that is required for the XENON1T upgrade, XENONnT. ReStoX2 is a subsystem that will be used to handle liquid xenon in most of the crucial phases of XENONnT. The candidate will follow the final phases of its construction: he/she will be responsible to follow closely the commissioning, maintenance and emergency procedure phases of ReStoX2. Extended stays at the experimental site will be required, especially during the first year of the contract.
