Description
Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory seeks highly qualified candidates for a postdoctoral Research Associate position on the Muon g-2 experiment. The Muon g-2 experiment has recently completed commissioning and started its first physics run. The bulk of the experiment’s data is expected to be collected between the Summer 2018 and Summer 2020 accelerator shutdowns. This is an ideal time for a postdoctoral Research Associate to join the experiment. Additional information is available at http://muon-g-2.fnal.gov. The Research Associate will be expected to play a leading role in operating the experiment, analyzing and publishing results from the 2018 and 2019 runs, and also has the opportunity to be involved in planning and executing upgrades for possible run extensions.
This position is for a period of up to three (3) years, with the potential for extension considered on a yearly basis thereafter. The position is contingent on the availability of funding.

- Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics, Particle Physics or a relevant discipline by the time of the appointment.
- Strong record of recent accomplishments in experimental physics.
- Ability to play a leading role in the operation and analysis of the Muon g-2 experiment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as demonstrated by presentations at conferences and a record of publication(s) in peer-reviewed journals.
- Respect, understand, and value individual differences that embody the principles of diversity.
- Abide by all environment, safety, and health regulations.
