Description
Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory seeks a highly qualified candidate for an Applications Physicist I position in the Neutrino Division Technical Support Department.
Supports new experiments in the Fermilab Neutrino Program. This includes coordination with needs of experimenters, attending and chairing meetings on issues of laboratory liaison with collaborations, and participation in problem-solving of issues connected with integration and commissioning.

Duties and Responsibilities
· Isolates and defines assigned problems, produces effective solutions and evaluates results. May extend and participate in research initiated by others subject to approval by Division/Section/Center Head.
· Monitors tests and examines operations of facilities to insure efficient functioning and conformance with safety specifications and regulations. May be responsible for the operation of a system such as a beam line, accelerator system, a detector or experimental computing support.
· Prepares technical reports and papers on research and development activities.
· Supports current Neutrino experiments in the NuMI beam line, including NOvA, MINOS+, and MINERvA experiments. This includes hardware and spares coordination, and operations liaison.
· Supports new experiments in the Fermilab Neutrino Program. This includes coordination with needs of experimenters, attending and chairing meetings on issues of laboratory liaison with collaborations, and participation in problem-solving of issues connected with integration and commissioning.
Qualifications and Essential Job Functions
· Ph.D. in Physics or relevant subject.
· 2+ years of Post-Doctoral experience or equivalent.
· Demonstrated experience in experimental Particle Physics.
· Established ability to conduct experimental measurements.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Experience with experimental operations in Particle Physics is required.
· Experience with working with large HEP collaborations.
· The ability to travel by automobile and/or commercial air carrier both domestically and internationally may be required.
· The ability and a willingness to work in underground experimental areas may be required.
