Job description:
The Experimental High Energy group at Tomsk State University, Russia is seeking highly qualified applicants for a HEP Post-doctoral Research Associate position to work on the ATLAS experiment at CERN. Successful candidate will be expected to play a leading role in the physics analysis, with an opportunity to define research topic, as well as to take leadership role in ATLAS “New Small Wheel” muon spectrometer upgrade efforts, while strengthening the existing efforts in the TSU group.
The group is involved in muon detector operations and plans to collaborate on the novel fast-time High Granularity Timing Detector design for High Luminosity LHC Phase II upgrade of the ATLAS detector. Current ATLAS analysis involvement of the group includes SM electroweak measurements, studies of Higgs decays to fermions and searches for physics beyond the Standard Model. The TSU hosts SKIF Cyberia supercomputer, which is among the most powerful supercomputers in Russia, and provides excellent computing resources and support to researchers.
The position will be based at CERN. Initial appointment will be for three years, with possible renewal. The salary will be commensurate with candidates experience and competitive internationally. Qualified candidates will have completed their Ph. D. by the time of the appointment and have experience with high energy detectors and physics analysis.
