Job description:
We invite applications for a senior researcher position at the University of Zurich (UZH) in experimental particle physics research on the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We are interested in finding an outstanding, strongly-motivated candidate with the drive to pursue important research topics in detector development for particle physics.
Our CMS group at UZH is engaged in data analysis, software, and operations of the CMS detector. We have helped construct the original and phase-1 barrel pixel detector, and expect to have an important role in phase 2 of the LHC and beyond. The successful candidate is expected to take a leading role in detector instrumentation for CMS. The position is initially limited to three years with the possibility of permanent extension.
