Job description:
The Department of Physics at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking to fill one postdoctoral position in the area of theoretical high energy nuclear physics. The nuclear theory group at Penn State consists of two faculty members, professor Anna Stasto and professor Mark Strikman and two graduate students. The candidate should preferably have expertise in theory and/or phenomenology of high energy hadronic collisions. The successful candidate is expected to perform an independent research in the area of high energy nuclear theory and phenomenology as well as actively collaborate with the members of the group. The main focus of the research will be on the physics of Large Hadron Collider and future Electron Ion Collider, including specific topics like low x physics, gluon saturation and multiple interactions. Requirements include: A Ph.D. in particle or nuclear theoretical physics before the anticipated start date.
