The Macalester College Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for an anticipated full-time visiting assistant professor position to begin in the fall of 2018.
The initial appointment will be for one year, with the expectation of renewal for the 2019-2020 academic year, depending on performance. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in physics or a related field. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching physics and will teach introductory and advanced undergraduate level physics courses. The teaching load is the equivalent of five courses per year.
The Department of Physics and Astronomy has five full-time faculty members with research interests in theoretical particle physics, observational astronomy, condensed matter physics, and materials science. More information about the department can be found at https://www.macalester.edu/physics/.
