CALL FOR APPLICATIONS:
POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER IN THEORETICAL PARTICLE PHYSICS
The Particle Physics group of the University of Antwerpen (Belgium) is calling for applications by outstanding physicists for a postdoctoral fellowship in the field of Quantum Chromodynamics theory and phenomenology.
The main topic of research of the group is the experimental study of fundamental interactions at large accelerators like the LHC at CERN, Geneva. These experimental activities are supported by theoretical studies specialising in Standard Model and Strong Interaction physics. The successful candidate will lead PhD students and contribute to a team of researchers at the University of Antwerp working on advanced QCD factorisation and re-summation techniques.
The scholarship is available for an initial period of two years, should start in the course of 2018, and is potentially renewable. To qualify, the candidates should have a PhD degree in theoretical particle physics and demonstrate a strong interest in phenomenological studies with a direct connections to experimental measurements.
Interested applicants should submit a curriculum vitae and arrange to have two letters of recommendation sent to Prof. Pierre Van Mechelen, preferably before January 3rd, 2018. Applications received after this date will be considered if the position is still available. The preferred method to apply is via e-mail. More information about scientific and administrative aspects can be obtained at the same address, as well as from Prof. Francesco Hautmann.
