THEORETICAL PARTICLE PHYSICS DESY

Hamburg location, is seeking:
Scientist (f/m) - Junior Staff in Theoretical Physics
Remuneration Group 14

DESY
DESY is one of the world’s leading research centres for photon science, particle and astroparticle physics as well as accelerator physics. The DESY theory group pursues a vigorous research programme in the investigation of the fundamental interactions of nature and the fabric of matter, space and time. Research topics include collider phenomenology, particle cosmology and string theory.

The position
- Research on particle physics phenomenology, study of the physics prospects at future colliders (HL/HE-LHC, ILC, CLIC, FCC, CepC, SppC)
- Study of Higgs boson physics at the LHC
- Model building for scenarios of new physics beyond the TeV scale
- Interface between collider physics and cosmology
- Participation in the research activities of the DESY theory group
- (Co-)supervision of master and Ph.D. students
- (Co-)supervision of postdocs
- Interaction with ATLAS and CMS groups on physical interpretation of LHC data

Requirements
- Ph.D. in physics
- Excellent research record and international reputation in the area of particle physics phenomenology, physics of the early universe and cosmology
- Team ability and very good English language skills
