Job description:
The Theoretical Particle Physics group at Lund University is looking for excellent candidates for a position as Senior University Lecturer.
The group currently consists of seven senior scientists, two postdoctoral fellows and ten graduate students. The research is focused on three main areas: various aspects of QCD and collider phenomenology, with emphasis on event generator development; hadron and flavour physics, notably with chiral perturbation theory as a tool; and the phenomenology of physics beyond the Standard Model, especially Higgs physics and unified gauge theories. The position entails research within or in close proximity to the three areas in which the Theoretical Particle Physics group is currently active, preferably overlapping with at least two of them, in order to maintain and strengthen the cohesion of the group, as well as teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Research will be conducted on at least 70% of full time. The work assignments of the position, as well as the relative proportions of research and teaching, may change over time.
The successful candidate is expected to conduct active advanced research within the area, which also includes active work in applying for external funding and developing collaborations with other university units and other Swedish and international organizations involved in this type of research. The person is also expected to take some responsibility for the collegial leadership of the department.
A highly qualified Senior University Lecturer may after the start of the employment apply to be promoted to full professor.
