Job description:
Postdoctoral Fellow Position - ATLAS experiment

The Particle Physics group at Duke University invites applicants for a Postdoctoral Fellow position working on the ATLAS experiment at the LHC.

The Duke ATLAS group consists of four faculty members, one senior scientist, two postdocs and seven graduate students. The members of the group have made significant contributions to the design, construction and commissioning of the TRT, the inner detector software and alignment, Monte Carlo simulation and electron-photon reconstruction. The group is playing a leading role in various exotics, Higgs, Standard Model and top group analyses on ATLAS.

The group has a major involvement in the Phase II upgrade of the ATLAS detector. The successful candidate is expected to play a significant role in the development of silicon tracking software for the current and the upgraded detector, and in the physics analysis of ATLAS data. This position is based primarily at CERN. Qualified candidates will have or will be about to complete their Ph. D. in particle physics and have experience in software and data analysis.

Interested candidates should submit (i) a cover letter including a brief statement of research interests, (ii) a curriculum vitae including a list of selected publications, and (iii) arrange to have three reference letters sent to Prof. Ashutosh Kotwal (ashutosh.kotwal@duke.edu).
For full consideration, applications should be submitted by 31
st December 2017. The position will remain open until filled.
