The Institute for Particle Physics and Astrophysics (http://www.ipa.phys.ethz.ch) at ETH Zurich invites applications for the position of a
in experimental Particle Physics to work on beamline studies for a High Intensity Muon Beamline (HIMB) and on the Mu3e experiment at the Paul Scherrer Institute (CH). As a member of our research group, the selected candidate is expected to take a leading role in these beamline design studies and participate in the Mu3e experiment itself.
Profile: The candidate is expected to have a PhD in Particle Physics and an excellent record of successful work in this field. Further requirements include: extensive experience in beamline calculations and data analysis, excellent programming skills and a potential for making a significant contribution to our experimental program. Candidates with experience in beamline design and calculations are particularly favored.
Candidates are required to actively participate in the teaching activities of the department, which includes tutoring of students.
