Expression of Interest for the ARC Future Fellowship - Junior at The University of Sydney

Field of Interest:astro-ph, hep-ph, hep-th
Deadline: 2017-09-29
Region: Australasia

Job description:
The Particle Physics Group at the University of Sydney seeks expression of interest (EoI) from highly qualified particle theorists to apply for the Australian Research Council (ARC) fellowship schemes with funding commencing in 2018/19. Before applying, candidates must obtain support from the host institution, which administers successful projects. This EoI serves as a facilitator for the suitable candidates to potentially obtain such support from the University of Sydney.

We seek EoIs from outstanding candidates with proven expertise in beyond-standard-model theory, including collider phenomenology and astroparticle physics.

As per the University’s strategic plan to increase the number of academics from underrepresented groups, we strongly encourage female and other underrepresented groups to apply.

Please direct your EoI, together with CV, list of publications and a statement of research interests to A/Prof Archil Kobakhidze at archil.kobakhidze@sydney.edu.au by 29th September 2017.

The ARC Future Fellowship – supports research in areas of critical national importance by giving outstanding researchers incentives to conduct their research in Australia. The aim of Future Fellowships is to attract and retain the best and brightest mid-career researchers (from 5 to 15 years after PhD). Future Fellowships provides four-year competitive renumeration researchers together with up to $50 000 of non-salary funding per annum which may be used for personnel, equipment, travel and field research costs directly related to the Future Fellow's research. For more information please follow the link http://www.arc.gov.au/future-fellowships

The proposals for the current round will be open on 3 October 2017 and will close on 22 November 2017. The outcomes are expected in June/July of the next year. Successful Future Fellows may start soon after that, once all the administrative paperwork is completed.
