The Institute of Physics at the Academia Sinica invites applications for two postdoctoral positions in the Medium and High-energy Physics Theory Group. Appointments will be made for 2 or 3 years, subject to an official approval of funding.
The successful candidates will work in the research group of Dr. Kin-Wang Ng and Dr. Yue-Lin Sming Tsai with a focus on dark matter cosmology. This group is also strongly connected to dark matter groups at Kavli IPMU (Japan), Purple Mountain Observatory (China), and NCTS (Hsin-Chu, Taiwan). The applicants will be expected to involve in cosmological constraints including cosmic microwave background and large scale structures on various of dark matter models, particularly for MeV scale WIMPs.
Requirements:
Candidates must have their PhD degree obtained before calendar year 2019. The candidate should have a demonstrated expertise in using numerical tools. Candidates with the skill of using COSMOMC and GADGET are especially encouraged to apply.
Applicants should submit their curriculum vitae, including publication list and research interests and plans, as well as names and contact information of three referees. Materials in electronic format are preferred. Applications and inquiries can be forwarded to:
Dr. Kin-Wang Ng or Dr. Yue-Lin Sming Tsai
Address: Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica, Taipei 11529, Taiwan.
FAX: 886-2-2788-9828

Applications sent at a later time will be considered if the positions remain unfilled.
Information:
Academia Sinica is the leading basic research institution in Taiwan, government funded and made up of an increasingly international community of scholars. The Group covers all major areas of nuclear, particle, astroparticle physics, and cosmology. In particular, there are active theory programs on heavy favor physics and CP-violation, perturbative QCD, neutrino astrophysics, beyond standard model phenomenology, early universe, and quantum gravity. We conduct an active experimental and instrumentation program on collider, hadron structure, cosmic rays, neutrinos, dark matter and beyond standard model physics. We are key participants in international collaborations like AMS, CDEX, ATLAS/LHC, COMPASS/CERN, LEPS/SPring-8, SeaQuest/FNAL, and KAGRA while leading a domestic TEXONO experiment on reactor neutrinos.
