Close Date: 09/30/2017
Description
Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory seeks a highly qualified candidate for a postdoctoral Research Associate position to work on the CMS experiment as part of the Scientific Computing Division (SCD). The position offers opportunities to develop the hardware, software, leadership, and analysis skills necessary for long-term success in particle physics research. Fermilab is the home of the LHC Physics Center (LPC) and plays a leading role in physics analysis on CMS in the areas of searches for physics Beyond the Standard Model, studies of the Higgs Boson, and measurements of Standard Model processes. The successful candidate will be expected to play a leading role in data analysis on the CMS experiment and will work on the development of tracking algorithms in highly parallel architectures that will be of critical importance for CMS running in the High Luminosity LHC era.
The position is for a period of up to three (3) years, with the potential for extension considered on a yearly basis thereafter.
Respect, understand, and value individual differences that embody the principles of diversity.
Abide by all environment, safety, and health regulations.
Qualifications and Essential Job Functions
Application Instructions
Interested candidates should submit via Academic Jobs Online: 1) Cover letter, 2) Curriculum Vitae, 3) Research Statement, 4) Publication List and 5) Three Reference Letters (to be submitted by the reference writers at the AJO site).
