Postdoctoral Research Associate in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
The Department of Physics at the College of William & Mary invites applications for a one year, non-tenure-track post-doctoral position with a possibility of renewal up to one or two more years based on mutual agreement and availability of funding Position begins July 10, 2018.
Under the guidance of the postdoctoral advisor the candidate is expected to perform research in theoretical condensed matter physics. Topics of current interest include the following: low dimensional electronic systems, two-dimensional heterostructures, topological states of matter, non-abelian states.
The candidate does not have any supervising duties. Part of the duties of the candidate is to present the results of the research to the physics community and to the broad audience by publishing such results in the main journals in the field and by presenting talks at national conferences.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D., or equivalent, in Physics by the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of low dimensional electronic systems, two-dimensional heterostructures, topological states of matter, non-abelian states.
