Postdoctoral research position in Particle Astrophysics at Université de Montréal
The particle physics group at the Université de Montréal is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in the field of particle astrophysics to join the ongoing PICO cold dark matter search experiment. PICO is an international, world leading experiment in the spin-dependent sector of WIMP searches. Its detection technique is based on the metastability of moderately superheated liquids and utilizes the bubble chamber technique to search for dark matter. The PICO collaboration is presently installing an upgraded 40L experiment at SNOLAB and is preparing a new generation experiment, PICO500 with substantially increased active mass and sensitivity.
Candidates will have a recent PhD in experimental particle astrophysics. Experience in instrumentation, detector simulation and data analysis are required. The successful candidate will play an important role in detector operation and analysis and will participate in the development of PICO500. The position is based at Montréal, with occasional field trips to SNOLAB (http://www.snolab.ca/).
