About the role:
• Salary: $90,387 – $96,677 per year (plus 9.5% superannuation, and leave loading)
• Fixed term for 1 year with possibility of an extension
• Full time – 35 hours per week.
As the Research Associate you will work in Theoretical Physics on the project “Atomic theory and dark matter”. You will be performing corresponding analytical and numerical calculations and simple estimates in different areas of theoretical physics (atomic, nuclear, molecular, elementary particles, astrophysics).
To be successful in this role you will have:
• Completed PhD studies in theoretical physics.
• Experience in one of these areas of theoretical physics: atomic, molecular, nuclear, high energy physics as well as experience in numerical calculations.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and publish in leading international scientific journals.
• Ability and desire to learn new areas of theoretical physics and work efficiently on new ideas involving several research areas.
• An excellent research track record in the discipline area as evidenced by publications in high impact journals.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a research team and to contribute to the broader intellectual environment of the School of Physics.
