The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (FCFM) at the Universidad de Chile invites applications to fill a full-time professor position at the Physics Department (DFI). Applicants exhibiting a training in string theory.
Applicants must have formal studies in physics and a doctorate in physics or in related areas. Although it is not a formal requisite, a postdoctoral experience will be an important element to be considered a the selection process.
In addition, they must be able to show international recognition supported by peer-reviewed publications that led to a significant contributions in their area of expertise.
Submit: Intention letter A Curriculum vitae that includes: the date when the PhD degree was awarded, title of the PhD thesis, and the advisor’s name. A development (including research) plan Undergraduate and graduate teaching proposals A list of publication with numbers of citations Copies of the three most relevant publications E-mail addresses of three recognized researchers willing to provide recommendation letters.
The annual salary are roughly 47MCLP for Full Professors, 41MCLP for Associate Professors, and 33MCLP for Assistant Professors (where MCLP = 1 Million Chilean Pesos), equivalent to 84.400, 72.800 and 58.000 USD respectively. .
