Research Associate position in Theoretical Physics, Zagreb, Croatia - Senior at Boskovic Inst., Zagreb

Job description:
The Division of Theoretical Physics at the Rudjer Bošković Institute, Zagreb, Croatia plans to fill research (full time, permanent) position in theoretical high energy physics, in the rank of Research Associate.
 
The successful candidates are expected to complement and strengthen the activities of the Particle Physics and Cosmology Group at the Rudjer Bošković Institute (http://www.irb.hr/eng/Research/Divisions/Division-of-Theoretical-Physics) in the area of theoretical physics with the emphasis on particle physics phenomenology, astroparticle physics and cosmology.
 
Requirements:
- PhD in theoretical particle physics
- strong record of research accomplishments revealed through the published papers in the leading scientific journals, in the areas of particle physics phenomenology, astroparticle physics and cosmology
- international postdoctoral experience
- good written and oral English language communication skills
- potential to attract external research funding
 
Prerequisites for Appointment to Scientific Position:
In addition to the general conditions for employment, applicants must meet the requirements stipulated by the Scientific Activity and Higher Education Act and the Regulations on Supplementary Prerequisites for appointments to Scientific positions of the Ruđer Bošković Institute.
The following should be attached to the application form:
 
1. Biography—general information, data on education, acquired professional qualifications and doctoral degree, professional work experience
 
2. Evidence of academic degree and scientific title
 
3. Brief summary of scientific activities in the last position held
 
4. List of scientific papers and a list of the most cited papers
 
5. Data confirming that the additional prerequisites have been met for appointment to the scientific position from Article 5. and Articles 6., 7., 8. and 9. of the Regulations on Supplementary Prerequisites for appointments to Scientific positions, including data on total citations, average citations, citations in books, monographs, textbooks, on principal authorship and the journal impact factor, see

6. Abbreviated program (up to one page) of the planned research
 
7. A list of two proposed foreign scientists, from whom the Appointment Commission shall request written recommendations for the candidate.
 
8. IMPORTANT! Additional info:
 
-  The net salary for the Research Associate position is about 7.900,00 HRK (approximately 1.050,00 EUR).
-  In addition to the net salary, the researchers receive state benefits including pension, parental leave, state-subsidized childcare, vacation, and full medical care.
-  The Division of Theoretical Physics is granted by three-years RBI-T-WINNING project funded by the European Commission under H2020 to extend the collaboration with the ‘twinning partners’ LPT Orsay, Ludwig-Maximilian University Munich, SISSA and Niels Bohr Institute.
