The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Wuppertal has an opening for a
Full Professorship (W2) in Theoretical Physics.
We are looking for candidates of international reputation with a research activity in theoretical particle physics. The successful candidate should complement and strengthen the theoretical physics research activities of the University of Wuppertal. We are participating dominantly in the work of the SFB/TR 55 "Hadron physics from Lattice QCD" and in the DFG-Forschergruppe for "Correlations in Quantum Many-Body Systems". The new professor should play an active role in the existing SFB.
A cooperation with the Forschergruppe is also welcome. He/she should be able to teach the courses in theoretical physics of the Bachelor- and Master-Programs of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
Participation in the academic self-administration is an obvious part of the job. Gender equality is an important goal of the University of Wuppertal and the new professor should help to reach that goal.

Job requirements:
We expect teaching abilities and a proof of a strong scientific record beyond the level of a PhD. The latter can be illustrated by a previous professorship or junior-professorship or habilitation or work as a scientist at a university/research institute/industry/administration etc. in Germany or abroad.Reference number: P17003
