Job description:

The Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy (FKF) at the Faculty of Science, University of Southern Denmark (SDU), invites applications for a full professor position in theoretical cosmology. The cosmology group at FKF was established three years ago with funding from the Lundbeck foundation, and this is an exciting possibility for an outstanding researcher to play a leading role in the further development and consolidation of the group. The group is integrated with the CP3-Origins centre of excellence and the Danish IAS. The position is available starting 1 February 2016 or as soon as possible thereafter.
 
Requirements and Expectations
Research: The successful candidate is expected to have a strong and independent research profile in the field of theoretical cosmology documented by an excellent track record of publications.

A proven ability to attract external funding is also expected.
 
Teaching: The successful candidate should have a strong teaching record. This includes experience in teaching courses in fields related to cosmology, general physics, and experience in supervision of bachelor and master students as well as the supervision/training of postdocs and graduate students. 
 
What SDU can offer
FKF is home to the Centre for Cosmology and Particle Physics Phenomenology (CP3-Origins), which is a centre of excellence founded by the Danish National Research Foundation. It contains, at the moment, seven faculty members and several postdocs and PhD students in the areas of theoretical cosmology, particle physics phenomenology, beyond standard model physics, astroparticle physics, collider phenomenology (both SM and BSM), and lattice field theory.

Appointment to the position will be in accordance with the salary agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. Applications will be assessed by an expert committee. Applicants will be informed of their assessment by the university.

• A brief survey of the applicant's most important research results and research plans for the next three years.
• A teaching portfolio.
