Applications are invited for a University Lectureship in Applied Mathematics or Theoretical Physics in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP) to commence on 1st October 2017 or by agreement.
This is a linked post jointly funded by Newnham College and shall be held in conjunction with a College Lectureship at Newnham College, where the successful applicant will carry the title of the Sheila Edmonds Lecturer in Mathematics. Applicants should hold a PhD in Mathematics or equivalent and be able to demonstrate an outstanding research record in an area lying within the broad research activities of DAMTP.
Applicants will be expected to give undergraduate and masters-level lectures, taking feedback from students and providing them with career or pastoral advice, and perform other usual departmental duties such as those associated with examinations. They will be expected to investigate new areas of research and funding opportunities, and submit grant applications. They will also be required to write papers for publication, attend conferences, network with national/international colleagues and give presentations.
