Field of Interest:Physics
Deadline: 2017-08-16
Region: North America
Job description:
The Haravifard Lab at Duke University has immediate openings for up to two postdoctoral associate positions. Our research is mainly focused on investigating the emergent quantum critical phenomena in correlated electron systems. We design, synthesis, and characterize frustrated quantum spin compounds and high temperature superconductors. We particularly seek candidate(s) with experience in neutron and/or X-ray scattering techniques, material synthesis and/or crystal growth techniques. Background in extreme sample environments: cryogenics, high magnetic field and/or high pressure setups, is a plus. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal for up to two additional years.
Questions regarding this position can be directed to Prof. Sara Haravifard (haravifard@phy.duke.edu). Applications should include a CV, a statement of research interests, and contact information for three references. Resumes from third party vendors will not be considered.
Application Materials Required:
• Cover Letter • Curriculum Vitae • Research Statement • Publication List(s) (optional) •Three Reference Letters (to be submitted by the reference writers at this site:https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/8913
