Job description:
The High Energy Physics group at the University of Rochester is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate on the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI), a next-generation galaxy survey under construction in Arizona. Applicants should have experience in particle physics or astrophysics research. The position will be based in Rochester but the successful candidate will be expected to travel frequently to the DESI site to take shifts and help commission the telescope. The researcher will also become involved the analysis conducted by the Rochester group, which includes searches for dark matter in the Milky Way, studies of the physics of dark energy, and the development of new techniques for analyzing large cosmological data sets.
