Job description:
The Swansea Particle Physics and Cosmology Group wishes to appoint a postdoctoral researcher to work on projects related to our STFC consolidated grant, which includes cosmology, quantum field theory and string theory, lattice gauge theory and particle phenomenology. The theory group consists of 15 permanent faculty members, and in addition postdocs and postgraduate students, making it one of the largest in the UK. This year, the position is assigned to Theoretical Cosmology in a broad sense, including physics of the early universe, dark energy, and dark matter model building. The appointment will be on the University's Grade 8 scale, with salary starting at £32,958. The two-year position will be available from October 2017. Applications should be made on-line through Academic Jobs Online at https://academicjobsonline.org (job number 8594). The closing date is 17 December 2016. This on-line procedure will ask for a CV, publications list, a short statement of research interests, and the names of 2 or 3 referees. Referees should be asked to upload their references to Academic Jobs Online before the closing date. We welcome applications from all qualified applicants: applications from traditionally under-represented groups in science are particularly encouraged. For further information about this position please contact Gianmassimo Tasinato, g.tasinato@swansea.ac.uk, or Ivonne Zavala, e.i.zavalacarrasco@swansea.ac.uk.
