Job description:
The high energy nuclear theory group at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) invites applications for a postdoctoral position starting Fall 2017 or earlier. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in theoretical nuclear or particle physics by the beginning of the postdoctoral appointment. The applicant is expected to work with Prof. Zhongbo Kang, as well as students in the group. The research interests of the group are primarily in Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) and strong interaction, and their applications in high energy nuclear and particle physics, with main research topics such as:

♦ QCD structure of the nucleon and spin physics: transverse momentum dependent distributions (TMDs), global analysis, ...
♦ Perturbative QCD and effective field theory in high energy physics: jet, jet substructure, heavy flavor/quarkonium, ...
♦ Hard scattering and small-x physics in nucleus and heavy ion collisions: cold nuclear matter/multiple scattering, ...

Interested applicants should submit their applications (CV, research statement, and list of publications) on academicjobsonline.org and arrange to have at least three letters of recommendation uploaded on your behalf. The application package should be uploaded here (so-called eDelivery Service):
