There are seven research divisions and a number of research centra within the department. The research activities at the department cover a broad spectrum of modern physics. www.fysik.lu.se/english

Type of employment: Limit of tenure, 4 years.

Description

The work tasks are primarily research and teaching on basic and graduate levels, with at least 75% research and supervision of PhD students. The teaching comprises courses on all levels within the field, as well as supervision of bachelor and master students. The proportion between teaching and research can change over time and other duties can be included.

The successful candidate will participate and contribute to the research in particle physics, especially dark matter related data analysis together with the rest of the Lund-ATLAS team. A participation in the Lund contributions to the ATLAS upgrade, to meet the future extreme beam intensities, is also possible.

He/she will in addition to the research at the LHC, prepare for next generation of dark matter related experiments, e.g. for direct or indirect observations, if possible also through technical development for future detectors with these purposes.

The successful candidate should also develop how today’s knowledge on dark matter can be integrated in the courses we give, harmonised with the courses given by theoretical physics and astronomy.

The successful candidate will supervise students on bachelor and master level, supervise PhD students and post-doctors, develop his/her pedagogical skills and teach physics at both basic and advanced level.

The teaching will increase to a 25% level during the four years. Participation in outreach activities is included in the work.
