Deadline: 2016-05-15
Region: Europe
Job description:
1 postdoc position in theoretical hadron physics at the Institute of Physics, Kielce University (Poland), on the subject
'Unconventional mesons between 2-6 GeV'
in the group of Prof. Francesco Giacosa.
Theoretical predictions for decays of glueballs and study of the nature of X, Y, Z states are planned. Close relation to ongoing experiment (such as BES-III) and planned ones (such as GlueX and Panda) is pursued.
The institute of Physics at Kielce University is active in the field of QCD, both theoretically thanks to the work of W. Broniowski, W. Florkowski, S. Mrowczysnki, and F. Giacosa, and experimentally thanks to M. Rybczynski, Z. Wlodarczyk, M. Gazdzicki. Moreover, the institute is active in molecular and atomic physics (own experimental setup EBIT).
We look for a candidate with good experience and proven skills in the field of hadron physics. He/She will have a decisive role in performing the research proposal. Collaboration with PhD and master students will also take place.
Start: 1/7/2016. Duration: 30 months.
Salary brutto: ca. 5600 zl. (Netto is obtained by cutting approx. 20%). Typical rent of a good apartment (70 mq): 1500 zl. Average life costs about 1/3 to 1/4 of west-europe. In terms of buying power, good life standards are allowed.
Application: a single pdf with cv, short description of scientific interests, and the emails and addresses of three senior scientists, who can provide a recommendation letter if requested, to be sent to: fgiacosa@ujk.edu.pl
