Research and Teaching Fellow (Postdoc Position)
 
The position will give you an excellent chance for further academic qualification (e.g. habilitation thesis). The contract is limited for 6 years.

The period of employment is governed by § 2 Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E13 TV-L
 
Tasks: Leading contributions to and coordination of the data analysis of the research group in the ATLAS Experiment at CERN's Large Hadron Collider; supervision of bachelor, master and Ph.D. students; independent teaching of lectures and exercise classes in the Master of Physics programme.
 
Requirements: university degree and Ph.D. in particle physics or equivalent qualification; experience in data analysis at the LHC in the field of electroweak physics; ability to perform outstanding research activities; ability to coordinate the scientific activities of a research group; ability of independent post-graduate physics teaching in English or German language.
 
The activities of our Dresden ATLAS group include leading contributions to the data analysis of weak vector boson scattering (VBS) within the Standard Model at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), studies on anomalous contributions to the underlying quartic gauge couplings as well as operation and readout of the ATLAS liquid-Argon calorimeter. The group is a member of several outstanding research cooperations, e.g. the "BMBF Forschungsschwer­punkt FSP-103“and the research training group “Graduiertenkolleg 1504, Mass, Spectrum, Symmetry” of the DFG and is leading several national and international outreach projects.
