DESY, Hamburg location, is seeking:
Postdoc (f/m) Experimental Particle Physics
DESY
DESY is one of the world’s leading research centres for photon science, particle and astroparticle physics as well as accelerator physics.
The particle physics programme of DESY consists of strong and extensive contributions to the LHC experiments ATLAS and CMS, and to the preparation of a future linear collider. The experimental programme is enhanced by collaboration with a strong theory group. DESY is searching for a high energy experimental postdoctoral researcher to work in the CMS experiment. The successful candidate is expected to participate actively in detector research and development for the next CMS silicon strip tracking detector, and will also contribute to top quark and Higgs boson physics analyses.
The position
-Active role in the CMS experiment
-Focus on detector research and development for the Phase-II upgrade of the CMS silicon strip tracking detector
-Participation in top quark and Higgs boson physics analyses
Requirements
-Ph.D. in Experimental Particle Physics
-Experience in development and qualification of High Energy Physics detectors, preferably silicon strip tracking detectors
-Experience in LHC physics data analysis
-Strong motivation for hardware and software development
-Excellent teamwork abilities and good communication skills and knowledge of English
